Your love lifts me up like helium
— Sia

I don't know about you but when I was a child I dreamt of a big fairytale wedding. I pictured myself arriving on a big white horse with my lace gown sweeping the floor and walking into a castle... Jacinta & Jacob's wedding was something of a little girls dreams, including my own.

Where do I even begin with this beautiful couple! Jacinta and Jacob approached our stand at the Queensland Brides Wedding Expo back in April 2017 and we all got on like a house on fire. Their wedding was just under a month away and Jacinta explained her stresses for her day and wanted someone to make sure all of their hard work and plans fell into place on the day. We went through their vision for their special day and boy did they have great taste! From the imagery of lavish flowers to delicate lace, Jacinta knew what she wanted and it was pure elegance. I could not wait to see it all unfold on the day.

As we started working on the runsheet, we started getting more of an understanding of their vision and how it will all tie together. Jacinta would fill in her suppliers and I was like a kid in a candy shop when she started naming all of these amazing suppliers. Like Leah De Gloria was designing her dress… Leah freaking De Gloria! Growing up with a dressmaking mum, I have always been around fine lace and wedding dresses (maybe that’s where my love of weddings came from!) When it came to list the florists details she mentioned that Seed Flora were doing the flowers, I am not going to rave about them just yet but do yourself a favour and visit @seedflora to see for yourself!

Normally coming into a wedding with only 4 weeks to go there isn’t a lot of changes especially when a venue has been booked for a year however we encountered a few issues but these were quickly rectified and it was all smooth sailing. Tip: make sure whatever is discussed and agreed verbally with a venue and/or supplier is also in writing! Staff members may move on or management might change however if you have it in writing it makes it easier, trust me!

They had booked their wedding on the grounds of ICMS in Manly, overlooking the best views! There was so much history behind this building and the aesthetics were absolutely beautiful. Along the side of this building was Saint Patricks Cathedral which was perfect for Jacinta & Jacob’s guests because it was all in one location and the grounds were spectacular for their photos afterwards.

Guests patiently waited for the bride with excitement inside the beautiful cathedral. From tall ceilings to the string quarter playing, it was truly magical. Jacinta arrived in a classic white convertible Rolls Royce and was proudly walked down the aisle by her dad to marry the man she loved.

Jacinta and Jacob opted for a marquee wedding on the lawn which was magical and the inside was even more so!

Please note, this is the first and only marquee wedding that was allowed at ICMS. Sorry if I burst anyone’s bubble, it didn’t work for the venues regulations. However, don’t write this amazing venue off just yet because the halls inside look just as amazing with some touches but still keeping the historic charm alive.

Jacinta and Jacob had 2 long tables on the sides of the marquee and then three square tables down the centre. They had a stunning chandelier installed in the centre which was incredible! Seed Flora got to work early in the morning prepping all of these beautiful flowers. The chandelier was covered with cascading pink veined orchids and greenery. Each main table had a different shade of flowers and the two long tables was filled with amazing florals, candles and chandeliers.

I was honestly so impressed with these flowers, it was something unreal. Later that evening the team at Seed came back to wrap up the flowers so guests could take home. Unfortunately for me I couldn't fly with 8 bunches of flowers back to the Gold Coast, could you imagine the poor person who had to sit next to me and my 100 roses and orchids?!

Wedding guests were directed to make their way inside the historical building where the dancing would take place. Guests were greeted with espresso martinis with gold leaf specks at the entrance whilst Uncle Jed provided the best atmosphere and excitement for a next layer to unfold that evening. Inside was donned with draped linen, candles, moody seating areas and gorgeous cascading flowers.  The party then continued with a champagne tower and constant flowing of drinks, cake and dancing feet.
